Annual Pre-Contest Festival - Friday 16th October 2009
Enfield Citadel Band at St John’s, Smith Square, London
The band's 2009 Annual Pre-Contest Festival, featuring the well known trombone quartet Bones Apart, was another resounding success. Held once more in the prestigious St John's Smith Square, the concert featured new music from Philip Wilby, Ray Farr and Dorothy Gates as well as older classics from Eric Ball and Peter Graham.
Bones Apart presented a number of impressive items in classical, latin, jazz and popular styles. They rounded off their contribution to the evening by uniting with the Enfield trombone section for a novelty performance of I will follow him. Suffice to say, it was not the ladies of Bones Apart who ended up dressed as nuns!
